Tonight our members had the opportunity to participate in a class from Temple Med Flight which included setting up a helicopter landing zone and familiarizing ourselves with the standard operations of critical care transport.

Today, Newtown Fire Rescue and Newtown Township proudly recognizes and celebrates the retirement of Firefighter/EMT Mike Bean after 28 years of dedicated service to our community.

Over nearly three decades, Mike has operated in many roles in our department including as a shift supervisor, and field training officer for new members of the department. Through countless calls, challenging incidents, and memorable moments, Mike has exemplified the commitment, professionalism, and selflessness that define the fire service.

His contributions have left a lasting impact on Newtown Fire Rescue and the residents we are privileged to serve. While his retirement marks the end of an extraordinary chapter, the legacy of his service and dedication will continue to inspire future generations of first responders. Mike is going to move on to continue his service to the community with the Bucks County Fire Marshal’s Office.

We had the pleasure of participating in the annual Newtown Memorial Day Parade to honor the men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We hope everyone has a wonderful holiday and takes time to reflect. Freedom is not free🇺🇸

We proudly congratulate our 5 newest Fire Fighter 1 graduates. Over the past several months they have spent over 200 hours on the training ground and in the classroom to achieve this certification. Congratulations to (L to R) Megan Hayhurst, Tim Gramling, Chris Forsyth, Gabriel Gowland, and Jeremy Gowland.

Over the weekend Captain Hill, Captain Alves, and Lieutenant Jennings participated in All Hands Fire Training’s Advanced Lines Systems Rescue course in the Delaware River. Thanks to Upper Makefield Volunteer Fire Company for extending the invitation and Fire Dawg Photos for the photos!

We had the privilege of playing our 3rd annual charity softball game against the Newtown Police today. A strong showing from our firefighters brought a big win! Looking forward to next year!
