🗳️ Election Day is Tomorrow!

We’re proud to spotlight three dedicated community champions running for the Big Spring School District Board who believe in students, families, and our future.

Ursus Fedin, Upper Mifflin – A Big Spring graduate, Eagle Scout, ministry leader, and policy analyst. Ursus is committed to putting students first, supporting teachers, promoting transparency, and responsible spending.

Steve Ginter, Lower Mifflin – Lifelong Bulldog, 35-year English teacher, quiz bowl coach, and community volunteer. Steve’s focus is students first, building trust between families & teachers, and responsible budgeting.

Alison Mellott, Newville Borough – Big Spring graduate, professor of education, mother of four. Alison stands for teacher-family collaboration, academic excellence, budget responsibility, and civility in our schools.

📌 Why this matters: Tomorrow, when you head to the polls, your vote will help shape the educational leadership in our community. These three stand for values we all share: respecting teachers and parents, prioritizing students, and being good stewards of our resources.

✅ Plan to vote: Set your alarm, go early if you can, and bring a friend if possible. Let’s make sure every voice is heard.

Big Spring stayed stable. Julie Boothe voted against it.

Across Pennsylvania, schools are cutting programs, freezing hiring, and taking out loans because the state budget is nearly four months late.

Big Spring isn’t facing that crisis — because our board planned ahead and budgeted responsibly.

REMEMBER: Julie Boothe voted against that responsible budget. She would have left our students in the same situation as struggling districts across the state.

Alison Mellott for Big Spring School Board – Newville Borough

Parent. Neighbor. Bulldog.

Alison Mellott is deeply rooted in Big Spring. She’s walked the same halls, cheered in the same stands, and now raises her family with the same Bulldog pride and values she grew up with.

She believes strong schools are built through partnership between teachers, families, and the community. As a parent and lifelong Bulldog, Alison brings both heart and perspective to every decision.

For Alison, “Ever, Always Strong” isn’t just a motto — it’s how Big Spring shows up for one another.
It’s the students who go the extra mile.
It’s the families who lend a hand.
It’s the community that puts kids first.

That’s the Big Spring spirit, and it’s what Alison will champion on the school board.

✅ Student-focused decisions
✅ Collaboration between school and home
✅ A commitment to community, care, and respect

Let’s keep Big Spring Ever, Always Strong.
