The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
East central Niagara County in western New York...
Orleans County in western New York...
Northwestern Genesee County in western New York...

* Until 700 PM EDT.

* At 628 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado
was located over Middleport, or near Medina, moving southeast at 35
mph.

HAZARD...Tornado.

SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Medina, Albion, Middleport, Oakfield, Holley, Ridgeway, Shelby,
Clarendon, Gaines, and Alabama.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

We are thrilled to share some exciting news with you – Town of Niagara is stepping into the future of citizen engagement with a brand-new mobile app!
The app is a great source of information for news, events, service interruptions and updates, and important links to the website. Staff can streamline important community communications and information to citizens in more efficient ways.
