On this Veterans Day, we extend our deepest gratitude to all the men and women who have served our country and protected our freedom. Your sacrifices will never be forgotten. We also honor the commitment of our former Cadets and staff who have served or continue to serve in the military. We remember and appreciate the invaluable contributions of Danny Bodenstein a respected former board member and USAF Veteran. Also, special acknowledgement goes to:

On Veteran's Day - 11/11 at 11 AM, please join us at the Veteran's Memorial (Robbins Drive / Hyde Park) for the Veteran's Day ceremony. They will also be reading the names of the newly installed Hometown Heroes banners along Robbins Drive. Our former Cadet Sergeant Major Mathew Springer (Marine Gunnery Sergeant) will be one of the honorees. His banner is located at Robbins Drive and Linwood Ave! For those wondering... he isn't able to attend in person as he has other obligations but we will send him a video clip and pictures! Hope to see some of our former staff and Cadets there!

Our unit was very fortunate to have met this Marine a few years ago when he was stationed in our area. He was a guest speaker and one of our Marine supporters that helped when we needed him. He is now a Senior Drill Instructor at MCRD San Diego and have won SDI of the Quarter! Congratulations and a huge thank you for your support SSgt Pizano!

We are very proud of our former Cadets who recently re-enlisted with the Marine Corps! Marine Cpl Gage Kelly is our second Marine to serve beyond his first term. Our Cadet SgtMaj Springer has re-enlisted twice and have currently served 10 years in the Marine Corps as a Staff Sergeant. Semper Fi Marines!

This guy here is 25 years old today!! He joined our Cadet unit 10 years ago and was a Cadet Sergeant when he joined the Marine Corps. Let's all wish him a very happy quarter century birthday today!

NYMC is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Cadet MGySgt Calvin Bell of HYMC. MGySgt Bell was a Marine Cadet from the age of 9. He passed away on the morning of 25 March from complications from the COVID-19 Coronavirus.

To our family at HARLEM YOUTH MARINES INC. ALUMNI., we wish to extend our condolences for your lost loved one.

We implore all members of our community and our organization to practice preventive measures outlined by the CDC or other recognized, official sources on the matter. Please stay safe, and please stay home.
