Monday was a perfect night for the Salvation Army's Family BBQ on Buffalo Avenue. Niagara-Wheatfield Kiwanis sponsored the provisions and helped cook and serve them to local residents. We were joined by members of Youthworks who came all the way from Lacrosse, Wisconsin. It was a great event.

The first Monday Music Mania concert at the Town of Niagara's Veterans Park was on June 29. We are grateful and in awe of the generosity of those who gave in support of our community service on their way in. The money collected will go towards summer kamp, scholarships, and our K-kids leadership program as well as other local needs. Thank you all.

On June 13, the New York District Kiwanis governor, Carla Ingram visited our Niagara Frontier North division. In the afternoon some of our members enjoyed a scenic ride to the Niagara River Whirlpool on the Jetboat followed by dinner at the Brickyard Brewing Company in Lewiston. We made donations in honor of Carla, to two organizations that support foster care for children as well as filling Blessing Bags and sending a child to Kamp Kiwanis.

On the evening of June 2nd, we attended the awards assembly at Wilson High School in order to present the Tom Beachy Scholarship for 2026 of $2000. The award goes to a student who has the same qualities as Tom. The student should be active in community service, a leader in their school government, an athlete, and plan a career in education. This year's winner was Mackenzie Hardy.

We've been so busy we haven't had a chance to post for a while, but we're catching up. Things are never dull. This is Deb on May 14th doing our adopted highway cleanup on Ward Road in Sanborn. She witnessed a truck snag this cable and promptly called 911, then secured some cones to reroute drivers around the hazard. That's community service!
