Hurricane Isaias recovery update | Saturday, October 10

Okaloosa County’s first Point of Distribution opens at 10 a.m. today at the Destin–Fort Walton Rigdon Center (formerly the Northwest Florida Fairgrounds), 1319 Lewis Turner Blvd., Fort Walton Beach. County residents who need them can pick up bottled water, tarps and ready-to-eat meals. More locations will open as supplies arrive.

As crews restore power and clear roads, please give them room to work. Stay away from downed power lines and nearby puddles. Never drive over, walk over or touch a downed line, and do not cut a tree resting on one. Damaged trees can fall unexpectedly.

For updates, follow Okaloosa County Emergency Management.

****We are currently out of sandbags at the Public Works yard.

Sandbags are now available for pickup at the Public Works Yard, located at 920 Cedar Ave., Building B.

Residents may self-fill sandbags at the yard on Byrne St.

🛑 LIMIT: 10 SANDBAGS PER PERSON

As we prepare for the incoming weather, residents are also asked to please refrain from placing bulk trash items at the curb for the remainder of this week. This will help keep streets and drainage areas clear and reduce potential hazards during the storm.
