Earlier today, crews responded to a jet ski collision involving an injured rider.

Rescuers aboard Ski 8 made quick contact with the patient in the water and safely transferred them onto Destin Fire Rescue Marine 19. Paramedics immediately initiated Advanced Life Support (ALS) care for a suspected leg injury while transporting the patient to shore to meet Okaloosa County EMS.

Great team effort by all units involved for a rapid water rescue! 👏

We wanted to take a minute to give a well-deserved shout-out to the Blue Tee.

At the North Bay Fire Control District, we’ve seen firsthand how much the owner genuinely supports our local firefighters. That kind of support means the world to all of us, and it’s something our community should definitely know about.

On top of that, the food is absolutely amazing. Every time our crews I stop in, everything is consistently excellent, the service is warm and welcoming, and we’re always treated like family.

Supporting local businesses that give back is so important, and The Blue Tee is a perfect example of what makes our community great. If you haven’t eaten there yet, you’re truly missing out!

Thank you to everyone at the Blue Tee for everything you do for the North Bay Fire Control District and our entire community. We deeply appreciate your kindness and ongoing support.

Besides, it’s America’s 250th birthday today, and we’ve made it two and a half centuries without you burning the neighborhood down. Let’s not break the streak now. 🏛️🇺🇸

Have fun, celebrate hard, keep a bucket of water nearby, and let’s make it through the Semi-Quincentennial (yeah, we had to look that word up) with all ten fingers and toes intact. Stay safe out there! 🦅🚒

Yesterday, we teamed up with our neighboring department, East Niceville Fire District, to put our skills to the test, practicing roof operations and ventilation techniques used to help release heat and smoke during a structure fire. It’s hard work, requires teamwork, and definitely isn’t for anyone afraid of heights!
