It’s been a great day of training at JCFD today. We started out with Jessamine County EMS starting a rope operations class for some of their staff. The rope operations class is a group effort consisting of Jessamine County Fire District, Nicholasville Fire Department, and Wilmore Fire Department. This evening JCFD crews trained on drafting and hose advancement.

Incident response*
JCFD responded to Foxtail Farm for a small electric fire in one of their horse barns. JCFD and Nicholasville Fire made a quick response to the scene. The area of concern was overhauled and crews returned to service.

Jessamine County Fire District was able to acquire a house for the KY State Fire School, KYIAAI Arson 2 class. JCFD and Nicholasville Fire Department with Arson 2 instructors completed the necessary burns for their class this week. As always we are proud to assist where we can for the KY State Fire School.

We have several members at State Fire School this year in multiple classes. Rope tech, trench tech, RIT, confined space, and aircraft firefighting to name a few. We are grateful for all the staff and instructors taking the time to invest in firefighters from all across the state this week. Thank you for what you do.

Congratulations to one of our youngest members Will Howard on graduating from West Jessamine High School. Will started with us as a Junior Firefighter. When he turned 18 he completed our recruit class and is nearing the end his one year probationary period.

Last weekend, four of our members attended the Crash Course Weekend in Dayton, Ohio. They learned tools, techniques, and tricks in a challenging environment.
