UPDATE2: As of now 02/27/25 @ 23:39 it appears we are receiving 911 calls via Verizon. If you have a problem getting through, please text.

UPDATE 1:As of 2/17/25 @ 21:00 hours the issue has been identified as a damaged fiber optic line from Spectrum that is keeping Verizon voice calls from reaching multiple 911 answering points in KY. We can still receive text messages from Verizon customers if you need to contact 911.

VERIZON Wireless is currently experiencing an outage that affects all calls including 911. This is not a 911 Center issue but is isolated to VERIZON only. If you cannot call 911 from your phone, please find another carrier or landlines to use.
** Texting is not affected. You can text 911 if you have an emergency!

Funeral procession route for Officer Ruggiero tomorrow. Please be patient and use alternate routes if needed.

Tomorrow’s procession for fallen Officer Anthony Ruggiero will begin at Southland Christian Church and end at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

The funeral - to be held in Building B - begins at 12:00 pm and should end at approximately 1:00 pm.

The procession will travel Harrodsburg Road to KY 169. From there, the route moves to North Main Street and will continue south until US 27, eventually ending at the cemetery.

We ask that those traveling during at that time and in those areas be aware of what will be a very large procession and please concede the right of way during our journey.

Today we mourn the loss of Officer Anthony Ruggiero. Please keep his family, friends, colleagues, and the Nicholasville Police Department in your prayers. Anthony was a true hero to Nicholasville; he served in our military, was a Jessamine County E911 Dispatcher, and an Officer for NPD in the Community Services Division. He was a true public servant and a pillar to Jessamine County. May he rest in peace.

Sheriff Kevin Grimes is reporting the following agency statistics for the month of January 2025. The following include calls for service, served civil paperwork, warrants served, prisoner transports from other counties to Jessamine, collisions worked, citations and case reports completed. These numbers reflect from deputies, detectives, and our office staff. Not listed below are funeral escorts, total arrests, mental illness court orders, written warnings, and our duties of the courts.

On January 23, 2025, our K9 Viking and handler conducted a traffic stop with the Nicholasville Police Department. The traffic stop yielded 79 grams of suspected methamphetamine after Viking provided a positive alert for narcotics located inside the vehicle.
Our K9 Unit continues to work hard for our community!
