This Saturday, September 5th, join us for two fun programs at General Coffee State Park!

Make a Frog Hotel:
Join us from 10 AM to 11 AM and build your own treefrog habitat to take home while learning about our local amphibians. Meet at Picnic Shelter 3. Fee: $15.

Twilight Adventure:
Join us from 8 PM to 9 PM for an evening adventure exploring the sights and sounds of our nighttime wildlife. Meet at Picnic Shelter 6. Fee: $5 for ages 12 & up and $3 for children.

Pre-registration and pre-payment are required. Call our office at 912-384-7082 or stop by to register!

A $10 parking pass is required per vehicle.

Celebrate Independence Day with us at General Coffee State Park!

Join us on Saturday, July 4, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM for a day of family-friendly fun featuring outdoor games, activities, and visits with our farm animals. Bring your friends and family and enjoy a memorable Fourth of July celebration in the park.

Remember to bring sunscreen, bug spray, and plenty of water. We look forward to celebrating with you!

Turpentine Festival THIS SATURDAY!

10AM-3PM at General Coffee State Park in Nicholls, GA

Join us for our second annual Turpentine Festival, a celebration of the rich history of the naval stores industry! Smell the aroma of spirits of turpentine, enjoy historical presentations on the naval stores industry, timber raftsmen, and sawmilling, and while you’re at it do some shopping with the many vendors on site. If you get hungry, we’ve got you covered. Plenty of food vendors will be present as well!

We invite all of you to come enjoy a day of history and fun!

Admission is $5 for adults, children 12 and under $3. Standard parking fee required.

Get ready for our second annual TURPENTINE FESTIVAL! Saturday March 28th from 10AM until 3PM right here in Nicholls, Georgia!

Join us as we celebrate the rich history of the naval stores industry in South Georgia! Learn all about catfaces, tar cups, rosin and turpentine! Historical demonstrations will take place throughout the day. In addition to living history displays and demonstrations, visitors will also be able to check out numerous crafts and food vendors as well as some other entertainment. You don't wanna miss it!

Admission is $5 for adults, $3 children 12 and under, and a standard parking fee is required.

The wild plum trees are blooming, warmer weather is here, and the birds are singing. Who needs a better excuse to visit YOUR local state park?

Join us this weekend for…

Heritage Farm Tours, March 7, at 10AM, 1PM, and 3PM. Tag along with a knowledgeable guide and learn about the early pioneer settlers of Wiregrass Georgia. Tour some of the outbuildings and listen to stories of yesterday. $5 admission for adults, children 12 and under $3. Pre-registeration is required at the front office.

Swamp Stroll, March 8, at 10AM and 2PM. Journey through the Seventeen Mile Riverswamp with your guide and learn all about ephemeral watersheds and the creatures that call them home. Meetup at the parking lot near picnic shelters 5&6. $5 admission for adults, children 12 and under $3. Pre-registeration is required at the front office.
