πŸš’ NICOMA PARK FIRE DEPARTMENT β€” COMMUNITY THANK YOU πŸš’

As many of you may know, the Nicoma Park Fire Department responded to a structure fire Saturday on Springbrook Lane. We are very happy to report that all occupants and animals were able to safely make it out of the home. Unfortunately, the home was a total loss.

While crews worked to battle the structure fire, we also faced multiple grass fires that had spread from the structure, adding to the challenges our firefighters were dealing with.

Due to the location of the fire and the lack of a nearby fire hydrant, crews were required to shuttle water to the scene in order to maintain an adequate water supply. This required additional apparatus, manpower, and resources from surrounding departments.

The Nicoma Park Fire Department would like to extend a HUGE THANK YOU to the following departments for answering the call and providing additional resources and manpower:

πŸš’ Spencer Fire Local 4050
πŸš’ Forest Park Fire Rescue
πŸš’ Jones Fire Department
πŸš’ Choctaw Fire Department
πŸš’ Hickory Hills Fire Protection District #1
πŸš’ Luther Fire Department
πŸš’ Midwest City Fire Department
πŸš’ City of Del City - Fire Department
πŸš’ Tinker AFB Fire Department

We truly could not have fought this fire without your help. Mutual aid is an important part of the fire service, and we are grateful to every firefighter who left their station, gave up their time, and worked alongside our crews during this difficult incident.

We also want to thank SSM Health St. Anthony Hospital - Midwest for their amazing response and helping all the firefighters with rehab. We could not continue to preform at high levels with out your support!

πŸ”₯ HELP SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL FIREFIGHTERS and EMS πŸ”₯

As we continue to experience extreme heat and dry conditions, our departments are responding to both structure fires and grass fires, sometimes for extended periods of time.

All of our local fire departments and EMS can always use donations of:

πŸ’§ Bottled Water
πŸ₯€ Gatorade / Electrolyte Drinks
🍎 Snacks
πŸ₯¨ Quick Energy Foods

If you would like to support your local firefighters and EMS, please contact your local fire department and EMS and ask what they currently need and where donations can be dropped off.

Even something as simple as a case of water or a box of snacks can make a BIG difference to firefighters working for hours in the Oklahoma heat.

From all of us at the Nicoma Park Fire Department β€” THANK YOU for supporting your local firefighters and your community. ❀️‍πŸ”₯πŸš’

Stay safe, stay hydrated, and please remember that these dry conditions can turn a small fire into a major incident very quickly

The current burn ban has been extended for an additional two weeks.

The Nicoma Park Fire Department will continue to monitor conditions and provide updates as they become available.

Thank you for helping us keep our community and our firefighters safe.

πŸ”₯ EXTREME HEAT & HIGH FIRE DANGER β€” PLEASE USE CAUTION! πŸ”₯

The Nicoma Park Fire Department is urging everyone to use EXTREME CAUTION as hot, dry conditions continue to increase the risk of wildfires and heat-related emergencies.

🌑️ Extreme heat can be dangerous!

Stay hydrated and take frequent breaks if working outdoors.
Avoid strenuous outdoor activity during the hottest part of the day.
Never leave children or pets inside a vehicle.
Check on elderly neighbors, family members, and those who may be vulnerable to the heat.

πŸ”₯ HIGH FIRE DANGER
Dry vegetation and extreme temperatures can cause a small fire to spread extremely fast. "WE ARE IN A BURN BAN"

🚨 If you see smoke or a fire, call 911 immediately. Do not assume someone else has already reported it. Early notification can make the difference between a small fire and a large wildfire.

Please help us keep our community, firefighters, and families safe during these extreme conditions.

Stay cool. Stay hydrated. Stay fire safe.

🚫πŸ”₯ Burn Permit Suspension Notice πŸ”₯🚫

Effective Friday, August 7, 2026, the Nicoma Park Fire Department will not be issuing burn permits until further notice due to the extremely hot, dry, and hazardous weather conditions expected over the next several weeks.

These conditions create an extreme fire danger where even a small, controlled burn can quickly become a fast-moving grass or wildfire, threatening homes, property, and lives.

The Nicoma Park Fire Department will continue to monitor weather conditions and will keep everyone informed when it is safe to resume issuing burn permits.

⚠️ If you see smoke or fire, please call 911 immediately. A fire that appears small can grow rapidly in these dry and windy conditions, and early reporting allows firefighters to respond before it becomes a larger emergency.

We appreciate your cooperation and commitment to helping keep our community safe.

Please share this post to help spread the word. Stay safe, stay hydrated, and help us prevent wildfires.
