A short Briefing on this evenings weather event.

As soon as the tornado warning was alerted crews that were already on station activated our weather siren. Due to radar activity we dispersed our engines out for weather spot and relocation.

Engine 820 relocated to Hampshire golf course and while on-site experienced some hail.

Engine 821 relocated to Mission hills memorial gardens and also experienced some hail.

Crews on station noted very little as far as hail.

Neither Engine noted seeing any cloud rotation but we've seen some videos and radar indication that there was cloud rotation present. Thankfully it stayed in the clouds.

There are 2 reasons we try to disperse apparatus during these weather events.

1. Weather spot and quick response
2. It puts our apparatus in separate locations in case there is an event that were to damage our station.

As always everyone stay safe and always monitor local news when the threat of severe weather is upon us.

M51 between Edward's and peavine is closed until MDOT can get here to clear the hwy. Please seek an alternate route

A Thank You to Office Interiors in Granger Indiana for the donation of 5 desk chairs for us to use at our board of directors table. We appreciate every donation that improves our station.

Exciting news. Utilizing memorial donations we received for Steve Wright and donations from our members we have been updating our meeting room/ hall rental area. We still have more to do but are very pleased with the progress so far.

Saturday morning, 1st day of 3 scheduled for hose testing.

Pokagon Fire Department is happy to announce we now have a free Narcan station located outside of our station. This is a life saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. It is free to anyone in the community no questions asked. Please spread the word. Thank you to Woodlands for making this happen.
