Our Mission is to serve the Village of Niles by protecting life and property through effective delivery of services including fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous material response, and emergency medical and rescue services, and by proactively reducing the risk of fire and fire-related injuries through

public education, fire cause determination and code compliance. The Purpose of the Niles Fire Department shall be to protect lives and property from injurious effect from fire, hazardous materials, medical emergencies, and acts of nature for the residents of the Village of Niles, Illinois and all incidents while providing mutual aid within the mutual aid agreements in effect with the surrounding fire departments.

Yesterday, at approximately 2:30 pm, companies responded to a residential structure fire near the intersection of Oakton Street and Milwaukee Ave. Luckily, the occupants were able to self evacuate and no one was injured as a result of this fire. We'd like to thank the Des Plaines Fire Department, Park Ridge Fire Department, Morton Grove Fire Department, North Maine Fire Protection District, and Skokie Fire Department for their assistance and RED Center for their support from the Alarm Office. The quick, coordinated efforts by all those on scene prevented this fire from extending into adjacent units.

NFD Companies responded to a flurry of calls for service during yesterday morning's storm. Thanks to the Niles Public Works for quickly responding to this downed tree limb and clearing it from the road.
