On Memorial Day, we pause to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.

As a community at the Ninilchik Senior Center, we hold close the stories, families, and memories behind every name. Their sacrifice is felt across generations, including here in Ninilchik.

Today, we reflect with gratitude for the freedoms we have because of them. To those who have lost someone in service, our hearts are with you. We remember and honor their legacy together.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and it’s an important reminder that caring for our minds matters just as much as caring for our bodies.

At the Ninilchik Senior Citizens Center, we see how changes that come with aging can feel overwhelming at times. Quiet days, health concerns, or moments of loneliness are more common than many realize — and no one should have to face them alone.

Our team works hard to make sure seniors in Ninilchik have a welcoming place to connect. A warm meal, a friendly chat, or joining an activity can make a meaningful difference in how we feel day to day.

If you’ve been feeling isolated or stressed, we encourage you to reach out or stop by. Our community is here to support you, and there’s always a place for you with us.

If you’ve been thinking about getting more involved with the Ninilchik Senior Citizens Center, now is a great time to join.

Our annual $25 membership helps support our senior meals program, transportation services, social activities, and a welcoming space for connection right here in Ninilchik.

Members can enjoy congregate lunches, take part in classes and events, and stay updated on everything happening at our center. Most of all, it’s a way to feel included, supported, and part of a community.

Happy Easter from all of us at the Ninilchik Senior Center.

This season always brings a sense of renewal here in Ninilchik, with longer days and a little extra warmth and hope. Our team is here for our community every day with senior meals, friendly visits, and a welcoming place to gather.

If you're feeling up to it, we’d love to see you for congregate lunch, a visit with friends, or a cup of coffee. And for those spending the day at home, especially our Meals on Wheels and home-delivered meals participants, please know we're thinking of you and wishing you comfort, peace, and simple joys today.

We hope your Easter is warm, restful, and filled with moments that make you smile. 💛
