Union Grove Volunteer Fire Department Union Grove Fire Department is no longer serving any of McMinn County or the surrounding districts.

Mcminn county has transitioned district 9's coverage to the North Mcminn station indefinitely. Some of our members made the transition with the county, some moved into other districts, and the other members continue to help the community in their own ways.

ICY CONDITIONS THIS EVENING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING...

WIDESPREAD RECENT RAINFALL WILL BEGIN FREEZING THIS EVENING ACROSS
THE REGION. PATCHES OF SNOW...ICE AND LIQUID MOISTURE FROM EARLIER
MELTING TO QUICKLY TURN TO BLACK ICE. THIS WILL ALLOW FOR HAZARDOUS
DRIVING CONDITIONS ACROSS THE AREA ON UNTREATED ROADWAYS.

As of this moment Union Grove is no longer the primary provider for emergency services in district 9. Union Grove members are investigating other methods of providing services without the need of county's approval.Thank you for allowing us to serve the community for so many years.

Use caution: there are utility workers, firefighters, and law enforcement officers working to clear the roads.Ice is still the biggest threat for the next few days.
If you come across a tree or power lines contact McMinn county dispatch at 423-745-3222.
Please do not attempt to remove debris by hand as there may be LIVE WIRES down.

An Ice Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or occurring. Significant amounts of ice accumulations are expected, which will likely lead to downed power lines and falling tree branches, as well as making travel very hazardous or impossible. Travel is strongly discouraged. If travel is unavoidable, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
