Good morning Kanawha County!
The NWS has issued a heat advisory from 1:00 pm Today (9/1/26) until tomorrow (9/2) at 8:00 pm!
Drink plenty of water throughout the day — don’t wait until you’re thirsty! Be like Bob! Bob stays hydrated during a heat advisory!
Spend time in air conditioning or a cool place whenever possible.
If you’re outside, take frequent breaks in the shade.
Wear loose, lightweight, light-colored clothing.
Never leave children, pets, or anyone else in a parked vehicle.
Check on older adults, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
Know the signs of heat illness: heavy sweating, dizziness, headache, weakness, nausea, muscle cramps, or confusion.
Heat stroke is an emergency. If someone becomes confused, loses consciousness, or has extremely hot skin, call 911 immediately.
