We had a great time on Saturday at the Ritchie Bros' Dozer Days in Mead. We were so happy to have so many people stop by our display to chat with our crews and check out the apparatus we brought to the event.

Thank you everyone who came by to say hi, especially our new furry friend from Service Dogs of America! That is one of the organizations the event was raising money to help fund.

On Thursday evening, our 10 MVFR recruits formally became graduates of Academy Class 26-1, pinned with their badges, and presented with their new helmets by Fire Chief Pepper Valdez. They are now in the post-academy process as they will receive additional training before beginning their rotations on the line as part of their probationary period.

Congratulations to all of the new Class 26-1 firefighters who are now heading to their respective agencies to begin their new careers.

We will be adding the individual MVFR graduate photos to this post as they come in from our awesome official photographer, Code 10 Photography, who was on stage during the ceremony.

Training is a critical aspect to working in the fire service. Over the past week, our crews have been rotating through our Wildland Group station in Brownsville and Station 5 in Superior working on different scenarios as part of their recertification for their Red Card.

You can see in these photos how crews worked through different "tabletop" exercises (it was on the floor of a bay) to determine the best course of action during a simulated incident.

After the crew on Engine 207 cleared motor vehicle crash call in Dacono yesterday, the neighbors across the street from the scene invited our firefighters over to talk for a little while.

Thanks to our awesome residents for showing our crews incredible hospitality. The crew also provided the families with some of our fun firefighter helmets!

This Memorial Day, Mountain View Fire Rescue honors and remembers the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

As you gather with family and friends this weekend, please celebrate safely:
👨🏻‍🍳 Never leave grills unattended
🐕 Keep children and pets away from hot grills and fire pits
🚙 Drive sober and stay alert during holiday travel
🇺🇸 Take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of Memorial Day

Earlier today, MVFR was proud to participate in the honor procession for North Metro Fire Rescue's Lieutenant Chad Tellinger.

Departments from across the region lined Interstate 25 as the procession moved from Greeley to Denver.

In this photo you can see the crew of Truck 206 and Medic 206 in the distance on the Erie Parkway overpass as members of North Metro Fire Rescue, Broomfield PD, and Northglenn PD escorted Lt. Tellinger.

Mountain View Fire Rescue sends our deepest condolences to our friends at North Metro Fire Rescue District and are here for you in whatever way you need.

We work very closely with our neighbors to the south, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

It is with great sadness that North Metro Fire Rescue District announces the off-duty death of Lieutenant Chad Tellinger due to illness. Chad was hired by North Metro in 1998 and proudly served the community and organization for more than 27 years. He was 52 years old.

Chad was a highly respected firefighter, mentor, IAFF Local 2203 leader, and beloved family man whose loss is deeply felt across the North Metro family. He is survived by his wife, two daughters, two sisters, and his mother.

The District is working closely with Chad’s family to coordinate services and support. With the family’s permission, additional information will be shared in the coming days.

We are moving into the final week for our 10 recruits in the Front Range Fire Consortium 26-1 Academy.

This week they have been tackling Company Drills where multiple apparatus arrive at a scene to work an incident. Yesterday recruits took turns working on several simulated scenarios including structure fire and rescuing victims over a burning garage.

Next week training ramps up even more, for example Hell Night throws a lot of challenging situations at the recruits.
