🚓☕ Join Us Tomorrow for Cop on a Rooftop! ☕🚓

Tomorrow, Friday, May 15th, members of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Citizens Academy Alumni Association will be partnering with Dunkin' and Special Olympics Indiana for the annual Cop on a Rooftop event at Dunkin’, located at 2560 E. 146th St.

From 5:00 a.m. until 12 noon, you’ll find us out front greeting customers and yes… some of us will even be up on the roof! 👮‍♂️🍩

Yesterday, HCSO Lieutenant Crask and Deputy Peelman had the honor of meeting two preschool students who won a special “Ride to School with a Police Officer” experience with the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.

The students were picked up and transported them to school in one of our patrol vehicles, making for a morning they will not soon forget. From the flashing lights to checking out all the equipment inside the patrol car, the students thought the vehicles were incredibly cool and had huge smiles on their faces during the entire ride.

Opportunities like this help build positive connections with the young members of our community and create lasting memories along the way. Thank you to everyone who helped make this special experience possible!

During National Police Week, the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office will continue honoring and recognizing the brave law enforcement officers from our community and surrounding areas who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty.

As we remember their courage, dedication, and unwavering commitment to public service, we also carry on their legacy through the work we do each day to serve and protect our community. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten, and their impact continues to inspire generations of law enforcement officers.

We ask our community to join us this week in reflecting on and honoring the lives of these heroes and the families, friends, and fellow officers who continue to carry their memory forward.

Congratulations to the members of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office who recently completed Crisis Intervention Team (C.I.T.) Training held at Fishers P.D. This training helps equip our deputies, corrections officer, courthouse security, and staff with the skills needed to safely and compassionately respond to individuals experiencing mental health or addiction-related crises.

The C.I.T. program strengthens partnerships between law enforcement, mental health professionals, and the community to improve crisis response and connect individuals with the help they need. Thank you to our members for their dedication to serving our community with professionalism and compassion.

This week, we join communities across the nation in recognizing National Police Week, a time to honor the courage, sacrifice, and service of law enforcement officers past and present.

National Police Week was established in 1962, when President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation designating May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which it falls as a time to pay tribute to those who have given their lives in the line of duty. What began as a national observance has grown into a powerful reminder of the risks officers face every day and the commitment behind the badge.

We pause to remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their dedication to protecting others will never be forgotten. Behind every name is a story of service, a family forever changed, and a legacy that continues to inspire. We honor them not only with words, but with our continued commitment to uphold the values they stood for.

To the deputies and officers serving today: thank you. You stand on the front lines, answering the call at all hours, facing uncertainty with professionalism and resolve. Your dedication to this community makes a difference every single day.

Today and every day, we remember the fallen and we remain committed to serving with honor and integrity.

Thank you to FiredUp Nutrition NF for inviting the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office to your 3-year anniversary celebration today. The weather was absolutely fantastic this morning, but the people in attendance made the event even better.

It was great connecting with the 9Round Kickboxing Fitness team and learning more about their workout program. To top it all off, the shakes were absolutely fantastic! Thank you for the opportunity to spend time with the community and celebrate this special milestone with you.
