Have you ever considered getting your amateur radio license? If you’ve ever wanted to play a meaningful role in supporting emergency response, here’s your chance!
For the first time, Hamilton County Emergency Management's Comms Group is offering its Amateur Radio Technician Course, a 10‑week learning experience designed to prepare volunteers to support backup and auxiliary communications during severe weather, major incidents, and planned events.
You’ll follow the ARRL Technician curriculum while also learning exactly how amateur radio fits into real-world HCEM operations.
The 2026 Technician Course begins September 8! Over 10 weeks, you’ll follow the ARRL curriculum, participate in hands-on learning, and take the FCC Technician exam at the end.
