Happy Father’s Day! 💙🧡

Of all the titles I’ve been blessed to have in life, being a dad is by far my favorite and most rewarding. Watching my son grow into the young man he is today has been one of the greatest joys of my life.

I’m also incredibly thankful for my own father, whose guidance, support, and example have helped shape the man I am today.

Today, we celebrate all fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, mentors, and those who step into the role of a dad. Thank you for the sacrifices you make, the lessons you teach, and the love you give.

Wishing all the dads and father figures a wonderful Father’s Day filled with family, laughter, and great memories.

On June 9, 2026, I officially began my 25th year with the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office.

It's hard to believe that 24 years have passed since I first put on the badge and started serving the residents of Hamilton County. Throughout those years, I've had the privilege of serving in many different roles, learning from great mentors, and working alongside some of the finest law enforcement professionals anywhere.

As I begin this milestone year, I thought it would be fun to share some photos and memories from those early days. Looking back reminds me how much has changed—and how much my commitment to this community has remained the same.

I've proudly made the Hamilton County Sheriff's Office my career, and I look forward to the opportunity to serve as your Sheriff in 2027.

Join me as we take a trip down memory lane and revisit some of the moments that helped shape my journey.

I stand with Sue Finkam for Carmel Mayor.

The recent events affecting Hamilton County families are deeply concerning, and I share Sue’s belief that our residents deserve better. People should be able to feel safe in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, and places of business without wondering whether repeat offenders are being allowed to continue putting others at risk.

As leaders, our responsibility is to put the safety of our communities first. That means supporting our law enforcement officers, advocating for policies that protect residents, and working with partners throughout Central Indiana to address challenges that impact us all.

I firmly believe Hamilton County’s future depends on strong regional relationships, including continued collaboration with Marion County leaders and public safety agencies. We accomplish more when we work together, communicate openly, and focus on solutions that protect families across our region.

Sue Finkam has been a strong voice on this issue, and I support her call for a system that prioritizes public safety and delivers better outcomes for our communities.

The people of Hamilton County deserve leadership that will speak up, work together, and take action. I remain committed to doing exactly that.

If I told you that one man since 2020 has faced over 30 criminal cases in Indiana, including most being felony charges in Marion County for theft, resisting law enforcement, drug offenses, residential entry, auto theft, and criminal trespass, would you expect him to be in jail?

Me too.

Recently, he allegedly committed a violent crime against Carmel residents, injured a victim and terrorized a family.

Unacceptable.

Let me ask what many residents are likely thinking: How does this happen?!

Carmel and other donut county residents pay the price when repeat offenders in Marion County cycle through the system without accountability. Our residents deserve to be safe. And police officers, who repeatedly do their jobs and put themselves in harm’s way, deserve a system that works alongside them.

We’ve invested in more personnel, technology and partnerships to keep Carmel safe. Enough is enough. This cannot be our new normal. It’s time Marion County does their part and holds criminals accountable.
