• Report it to ReportFraud.ftc.gov​
• Log it at DoNotCall.gov​
• File applicable complaints with the Indiana Attorney General Office @ 317-232-6330​

If you DID share sensitive information or money:​
• Begin your recovery at IdentityTheft.gov​
• Contact the Hamilton County Public Safety Communications non-emergency line @ 317-773-1282​
• Notify your bank​

Federal assistance is available following the Presidential Disaster Declaration, and residents affected by the flooding have until October 25 to apply for FEMA disaster assistance.

This 60‑day deadline is set based on the date of the declaration.

The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding eligible businesses, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners and renters in Indiana of the Oct. 25 deadline to apply for low-interest federal disaster loans to offset physical damage caused by severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes and flooding beginning Aug. 11.

The filing deadline to return applications for physical property damage is Oct. 25. The deadline to return economic injury applications is May 25, 2027. However, after the deadline has passed, there is a 60-day grace period in which SBA will accept applications.

Property owners with questions about the substantial damage assessment process can contact the Substantial Damage Property Assistance Line at 833-495-9888. The assistance line is available Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET.

Call center assistance staff can:

· Explain the substantial damage assessment process
· Answer general questions about permitting and rebuilding requirements
· Help property owners understand potential next steps
· Connect callers with appropriate local officials or recovery resources when additional assistance is needed

The assistance line provides general information and guidance. It does not determine whether a property is substantially damaged or replace the authority of local officials. This hotline is not available for questions related to the State Disaster Relief Fund.

Storm‑related damage or displacement from the August storms may make you eligible for up to $1,000 in housing relief through the REALTORS® Relief Foundation Indiana Storm Relief Grant.

MIBOR and the Indiana Association of REALTORS® secured $500,000 for this program, and MIBOR is acting as the fiscal agent in central Indiana.

If you lost work or self-employment income due to the August storms and flooding, you may qualify for Disaster Unemployment Assistance (DUA).

If you’re not eligible for regular unemployment benefits, you’ll need to:
• First file for regular Unemployment Insurance
• Receive a denial notice
• Then complete the required DUA forms through Indiana’s online system
