We carry on the history of the Santa Cruz County Arc founded in 1968 for people living with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our members develop a vision for their future as we assist them in participating and contributing to the community, and in making responsible choices. Those in our programs learn to exercise more control over their lives, to establish and maintain relationships,

and to practice self-respect, acceptance, and personal safety. We value:
-The development and fostering of personal relationships with family and friends
-Individual and family initiative in making choices and expressing preferences
-Equal access to quality services and supports for all individuals
-Individuals as welcomed, participating and contributing members in all aspects of
family and community life
-The rights of all individuals and the preservation of their worth, value and dignity
