📚 FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL SAFETY REMINDER 🚌

As students return to school, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office reminds all motorists to use extra caution and remain alert.

🚸 Additional deputies will be conducting ZERO-TOLERANCE TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT to help protect students, families, school staff, and commuters. 🚔

Please remember to:

• Slow down and obey all school-zone speed limits
• Follow crossing guards’ instructions
• Stop for school buses displaying flashing red lights and an extended stop sign
• Avoid distracted driving and put away your phone
• Watch carefully for children walking or riding bicycles
• Allow extra travel time and remain patient
• Ensure everyone in your vehicle is properly restrained

Let’s work together to make the first day of school and every school day a safe one for our entire community.

Today, the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office had the opportunity to visit the Nogales BJJ Anti-Bullying Camp. Our deputies spoke with the kids about the importance of standing up against bullying, played fun team-building games, and gave them a hands-on look at our patrol equipment and vehicles.

Thank you to Nogales BJJ for inviting us to be part of such a great event and for making a positive impact on our youth!

Community outreach and education have never been more important. The Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office is committed to operating with the highest degree of honesty, professionalism, and integrity in our interactions with the community, fellow law enforcement agencies, and one another.

Michelle Dixon, a representative with LAW Publications, will be visiting local businesses throughout our community to seek sponsorships for an important community safety program. She can be reached by text message at (660) 341-6106. You may also call and leave a voicemail.

This program provides school-aged children and senior citizens with valuable educational materials addressing drug awareness, personal safety, and other risks and dangers that may affect our community.

We sincerely appreciate the support of our local businesses and community partners in helping make this safety initiative possible.

Thank you for your continued support!
