The Benton Fire is currently active on the east side of Santa Cruz County near the United States–Mexico border.

The Santa Cruz County Office of Emergency Management is actively coordinating with local, state, federal, and international partners in both the United States and Mexico to monitor the situation and ensure timely information sharing. Agencies are working closely together to assess conditions and maintain situational awareness as the incident develops.

At this time, residents are encouraged to remain aware of changing conditions and follow official sources for updates. Emergency Management will continue to provide information to the public as it becomes available.

Lights, camera, Santa Cruz County!

A major TelevisaUnivision production recently brought exciting activity to our community, filming 80 percent of the 130-episode series Hermanos Coraje. The series was directed by José Alberto Castro and supported by Tucson-based Monsoon Production Services.

Scenes were filmed at the Historic Shankle Ranch, Lucky Hurford & JV Ranch, and throughout the streets of Tubac.

The production company spent $583,835 locally during filming, supporting businesses, jobs, and services across Santa Cruz County. That figure does not include additional spending by cast and crew while staying in Tubac during production.

This is why Santa Cruz County is proud to be a Film Ready Community, welcoming productions that showcase the region while supporting the local economy.
