As we head into the weekend with suspected severe cold weather and expected precipitation, I'm asking everyone in our community and in Bell County to take extra precautions. Please limit travel, protect your pipes and your pets, and check on your neighbors who may need assistance. If you are using space heaters, keep them at least 3 feet from anything that can burn, never leave them unattended, and please do not overload any plugs.
Our crews are prepared, but your safety starts at home. Stay warm, stay aware, and help us keep our community safe throughout this winter weather event.

This week has been wonderful for the men and women of the Nolanville Fire Department and our partners from Allegiance Ambulance. We have been able to spend time teaching and interacting with students from Vintage Academy, Cavazos Elementary school, and Nolanville Elementary school during fire safety month.
A little bit of extra information: fire safety month is in the month of October every year. More specific fire safety week is always the week that includes October 9th. The reason for this is to honor the anniversary of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871 (October 8-10).

For anyone who is interested in learning more information about the proposed ESD and not just relying on made up or partial information, we will have one more meeting at the beginning of the Fall Festival. I encourage anyone and everyone to come, participate in the meeting, or just enjoy yourselves at the Nolanville volunteer fire department's first annual Fall Festival.
