A Heartfelt Thank You!
First, thank you for your ongoing support of TN MomPAC!
I want to personally let you know that I have decided to shut down TN MomPAC. I devoted a year to starting and getting TN MomPAC up and running steadily before returning to work. Unfortunately, since then I haven’t had the time to devote to the mission and the fundraising needed to keep it going. Fundraising took up roughly 90% of my time, leaving far too little for the work itself. Without someone focused full time, it simply isn’t sustainable.
I’m so grateful for your contributions and support. Whether you donated, attended an event, shared our message, or helped spread the word, you helped make this work possible. To those who hosted events, you not only helped us raise money, but introduced us to the state. Although much of our work was done in Nashville, we had events in Columbia, Memphis, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, Chattanooga to name a few.
We should all be proud of what we accomplished, especially in our first year. We educated, spoke out against harmful legislation, and connected with hundreds of people. We supported the LGBTQ community at Pride events, stood with Rutherford County librarians against book bans, and spoke up about LGBTQ bullying and trans rights at Williamson County school board meetings. We also provided food in neighborhoods with large immigrant populations.
We advocated for gun reform, public schools, women’s bodily autonomy and LGBTQ rights. We endorsed candidates, held signs at the polls, and kept people informed during the legislative session. We helped explain gerrymandering, down-ballot voting and vouchers, called out corruption, and shared where candidates stood on the issues at the heart of our mission.
Thanks to you all for being part of it.
I gave this my all, and it was an honor to do this work with your support. Closing TN MomPAC doesn’t change how much these issues matter to me or how grateful I am to everyone who helped us speak up and show up. The work continues!
Lastly, special thanks to Zeke Stokes for believing in me and proposing the idea in the first place. I loved every single minute of this role and so grateful to have you by my side. I love working with you my friend!
All my best!
Heather
