SGT Le’s actions were commendable and BRAVE! Our community Is truly fortunate to have such a committed and courageous individual serving our community. We have seen smiliar situations in other communities with lethal outcomes. I am truly grateful for such a compassionate individual serving on our police force! Our department faces a lot of criticism for choices they make but we never know the whole situation as to how or what decisions were made. They get to meet people at their worst, most vunerable and unpredictable. The internal fortitude of these officers is something most of us cannot fathom. I would like to add my commendation to that of Investigator Harrison on a job well done!

2021 MUNICIPAL ELECTION
CANDIDATE FILING DEADLINE

The candidate filing deadline is Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 5:00 PM for the Annual City of Nome Municipal Election (which will be held on Tuesday, October 5, 2021).

The following seats will be up for election:
• Mayor (2-year term)
• 2 City Council (two 3-year terms)
• 2 Utility Board (one 2-year term and one 3-year term)
• 3 School Board (two 3-year terms and one 2-year term)

Contact City Hall at 443-6663 to obtain the forms necessary to file.
