Nome Food Bank will be closed tomorrow (1/1/26) in observance of the New Year.

Food Bank clients/consumers are welcome to stop by until 4:30 today to pick up SAFE food items and chicken.

We are looking for donations of bread or rolls to sell at the fundraiser to support XYZ and Nome Community Center. Donations can be dropped off at XYZ on the 24th.

Volunteers are welcome November 25th, the day before the fundraiser to help bake bread.

Nome Community Center will be closed Tuesday, November 11th in observance of Veteran's Day. XYZ Senior Center and NEST will remain open.

Regular NCC business hours will resume the following Wednesday.

Nome Community Center's October Spotlight!

"Due to funding issues related to the recent Government Shutdown, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska has temporarily closed all of the Clubs under their purview. The Nome Boys & Girls Club is one of the Clubs impacted.

However, Nome Community Center will continue operating the Club during the temporary closure of Boys & Girls Clubs of Southcentral Alaska.

At this time, the hours of operation for the Nome Boys & Girls Club will be as follows:
Monday: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Tuesday: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Wednesday: 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Thursday: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Friday: 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

If your child(ren) will be attending the Nome Boys & Girls Club at this time, please complete the attached waiver (for each child), and send it to [email protected]. You may also pickup, fill out, or return a waiver at the Nome Boys & Girls Club, or the Nome Community Center Office (above XYZ Senior Center). Every child in attendance must have a waiver on file.

In preparation for inclement weather, the NEST shelter will be operating from 5pm Saturday - 8am on Sunday.

The day shelter will be open from 8am - 8pm on Sunday.

Nome Community Center will be closed on Monday, October 13th in recognition of Columbus/Indigenous Peoples Day. Regular business hours will resume on Tuesday.
