Our No Longer The Face Initiative was given birth after our Founder, Sheila B. had the privilege of speaking at an event for women that were SURVIVORS of Domestic Violence October 2013. It truly was the first time that she had shared her story with the public. After the event she was inspired to post a picture on her page simply to say that she was a Rape and Domestic Violence Survivor. T

o her surprise the picture captured close to 200 likes and her inbox was immediately overwhelmed with messages. There were notes to say “sorry you had to go through that” “Sheila I never knew” “I am too a survivor of rape” “I’ve been beaten by my boyfriend before” and the notes continued to flow in. It was at that moment that she decided that she had to do something to help others. June 2014, No Longer The Face Of Abuse would host their first event that would celebrate LIFE, SURVIVORSHIP & the beauty of STILL STANDING UPRIGHT after abuse! The event was an HUGE SUCCESS and made the passion to continue to bring awareness to domestic abuse, raise funds to assist programs supporting such crimes and provide an outlet for SURVIVORS, A VOICE! Sheila feels truly blessed that God has given her a story, a story that will touch lives, change lives, save lives………..
