One of the missions of the CAPE Legacy Foundation is to provide relief to CAPE employees affected by disasters. Over the next week, CLF will be working with the folks on the ground in Texas to identify employees and their families who have been impacted and provide them immediate support in the form of supplies (if they can be reached) and/or cash. Fourteen employees have been identified so far. In addition to immediate support, CLF will be accepting donations to provide longer-term support once the danger has passed and people are able to get back to their homes and survey the damage. Donations received between now and September 30 will go directly to the employees. CLF and CAPE will each match 100% of these donations, for a total 2:1 match. This is a great way to stretch your donation and ensure it reaches individuals in need, and donations are 100% tax deductible.

Andrew Baker and his son Nate shaved their heads over the weekend in support of St. Baldrick's Foundation, which raises money for childhood cancer research. Nate had an original goal of $200, and thanks in large part to individual donations from CAPE employees and CLF’s matching funds, he raised $1,300! His team of 18 volunteers from his school (boys and girls, men and women) collectively raised over $12,000! As you can see from the pictures, Nate was still pretty nervous about this right up until the end, but he was very happy and proud of himself after the fact! Way to go Nate and Andrew!
