On December 13th, RDML Randall had the privilege of presiding over the graduation ceremony of Foxtrot 206 - 108 new Coast Guard members ready for the fleet after successfully completing Coast Guard Boot Camp. RDML Randall and CMC even joined in for voluntary pre-ceremony pushups 💪🏻

RDML and CMC Morales also served as Recruit Company Mentors for Foxtrot 206, checking in with them along the way to graduation, offering advice, encouragement, and answering questions.

Congratulations Foxtrot 206! We’re excited to hear about all the amazing things you’ll do out there!

RDML Randall traveled to Training Center Yorktown (TCY) to thank the TCY Band during a luncheon for their work this year supporting the training center. This all-volunteer group provided ceremonial and patriotic music for nearly 20 events this past year, including the Coast Guard Atlantic Area Change of Command. Some of these dedicated members have logged nearly forty years of service to the band and Training Center Yorktown. Thank you TCY Band for lending your talents to the Coast Guard and to FORCECOM!

From RDML Randall:
Spent a great Thanksgiving Day on the serving line at the Training Center Yorktown Culinary Support Activity, dishing out an amazing Thanksgiving meal to the students, watchstanders, and families of Training Center Yorktown (TCY). Many thanks to TCY’s Commanding Officer, CAPT Scott Rae, for letting me be a part of this opportunity to take care of our students, and more importantly to the team of outstanding Culinary Specialists at CSA Yorktown for the effort and energy they put into this meal. No one left hungry or disappointed!

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at FORCECOM!

Spirits were high today as RDML Randall and CMC Morales presided over BM3 Michael Jones’ advancement to Petty Officer Third Class, as he continues to recover from injuries sustained during a mishap at Boatswain’s Mate ‘A’ School. He was even able to virtually attend the ceremony held at U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Yorktown along with his classmates. A special thank you to the Coast Guard Foundation and the USCG Moms and Grandmas Group for ensuring his family could be with him during his treatment and recovery.

FORCECOM is excited to announce that the Coast Guard’s new Online World of Learning (CG-OWL) is taking flight today, 10 June 2024!

CG-OWL is an upgraded online learning platform that will provide flexible, on demand training and education to our total workforce. We are continuing to develop and build out new capabilities inside CG-OWL to improve your learning experience.

Current Coast Guard users will need to download their legacy LMS transcript from the legacy system before October 2024. A recently released ALCOAST provides details and instructions on how to download your transcript. In addition, there is an exciting new video from RDML Randall below!

When CG-OWL leaves the nest, it will take Coast Guard learning to new heights!

From RDML Randall and Command Master Chief Morales:

Master Chief Morales and I just finished an amazing mentoring session with your recruits in Tango-204 U.S. Coast Guard Training Center Cape May. What a difference from our week 2 visit! These recruits have orders in hand and are super excited to go their next units and 'A' schools. Many thanks to CAPT Warren Judge and the team at Training Center Cape May for what they are doing to turn these recruits into productive Coast Guard men and women at their first units. Looking forward to our next visit at their graduation.

The Coast Guard, in partnership with developers from the U.S. Air Force, is almost ready to launch it’s new Learning Management System to provide top-notch, highly accessible online training to all our servicemembers.

In advance of this system’s release in the spring of 2024, RDML Randall, FORCECOM Commander, met with Air Force Brigadier General Oakland, Aviation Education and Training Command’s (AETC) A3/A6 at Randolph Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas to discuss the continued development of online learning as well as discussing opportunities to share best practices in training development and delivery. We look forward to continuing our work with AETC to modernize our training delivery.
