LOGCOM on the road! Last week, Command Master Chief Audette and new Chief of Staff Captain Leverich traveled to Base St. Louis for a unit visit and All Hands to meet the crew and recognize the team’s great work! That Enlisted Person of the Quarter Belt is outrageous! Check out the pictures!

Officially established as a Base in November 2023, Base St. Louis has 95 Active, Reserve and Civilian personnel and provides support to 17 afloat units and 47 shore units across a 22-state area of responsibility. Base is comprised of four departments including Personnel, Comptroller/Base Ops, Health, Safety and Work-Life, and Procurement and Contracting. They also have an Industrial Production Detachment, Electronic Systems Support Detachment, and a Maintenance Augmentation Team. Additionally, Base St. Louis is home to the Coast Guard’s National Continuity of Operations (COOP) for quick relocation during natural disasters and contingency operations. Bravo Zulu and thanks for a terrific visit!

Even through Hurricane Beryl is long gone, the hard work of the Coast Guard’s Family Assessment Support Tool (FAST) Team continues. FAST is a SharePoint database that gives the Coast Guard the ability to track and respond to urgent personnel needs, and provide timely support. It was created in 2015 in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida when it became clear that the Coast Guard needed to transition away from using spreadsheets to online management of contingency operations. The team is comprised of members from Bases across the Coast Guard, and currently deployed to the Coast Guard’s National Continuity of Operations (COOP) site in St. Louis, MO.

The FAST Team has made contact with nearly 900 Sentinels and their families and continues to provide critical support to nearly 100 families who are still displaced or have reported ongoing utility outages. Bravo Zulu for all your efforts and thank you for taking care of our Coasties and their families!

R-CMC LePage and CAPT McSpadden had an excellent unit visit to Base Alameda along with RDML Danko (DCMS SRO) and CDR Barnard (photo attached). A special thank you to CAPT Leverich, CDR Fawcett, CMC Cole, CDR Ward, and BMCM Jones for the opportunity to speak with the reserve members, including ESD San Diego, and for all the support to the reserve component!
With the beginning of FY24, every unit focused October drills on general reserve requirement training and Civil Rights training, as well as onboarding new members, annual verifications, weigh-ins, and medical readiness.

🇬🇺🇺🇸 Teamwork makes the dream work! 🫱🏽‍🫲🏾

U.S. Coast Guard Forces Micronesia/Sector Guam Engineering and U.S. Coast Guard Base Guam’s Maintenance Augmentation Team joined forces to prep the USCGC Oliver Henry (WPC 1140) for their next underway mission. 🚢🔧

This dynamic team put the focus on preventative maintenance, and one vital task on their list was pressure testing these fire hoses. 🔥💦

Their dedication ensures that downrange operations happen smoothly, keeping our region secure and prosperous. 🌴✨

Shoreside support teams - the unsung heroes of our Service! 👏

DOL held its annual Base Leadership Conference from 20-24Mar onboard Base Portsmouth, attended by all CG Base Commanding Officers and Command Senior Enlisted Leaders. CG senior leaders including VCG, D-MCPOG, both AREA Commanders and their respective CMCs, as well as DCMS-DMR offered remarks. It was a very busy four-day event. All Logistics and Service Center COs, as well as multiple representatives from a variety of HQ staff elements provided briefs, capturing the most pressing issues facing the Mission Support enterprise. The conference was extremely successful, and provided attendees with a thorough review of critical issues impacting the DCMS enterprise.

Happy !

Earlier this month, Captain Jackie Leverich, Commanding Officer of Base Alameda, was honored at the 24th Annual Women Who Dare Gala by Girls Inc of the Island City for being a powerful role model and outstanding example of what it means to be strong, smart, and bold. This award is presented annually to recognize women and girls who are making a difference in the community. Each year, Girls Inc. celebrates the strides women have made in a particular field, and inspire girls in the Best Foot Forward Program to reach for equality and success. As part of the award, CAPT Leverich was interviewed by the Best Foot Forward Girls back in February where she got to spend time talking about her accomplishments and what led her to serve in the Coast Guard. Base Alameda also supports the Eureka! Program for girls encouraging STEM field career exploration through summer internships with Coast Guard units throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. During her acceptance speech she said “There were brave women who forged the path for me to serve as I have, and I make a focused effort to pay that forward to the next generation. The possibilities of what you can achieve, are indeed endless, when you put your mind to it. Dare to bet on yourself once you’ve mastered the place you’re at, and challenge yourself to take the necessary steps to achieve your dreams.

The women of Coast Guard Mission Support are always ready to lead and execute our massive mission with dedication and commitment.
Bravo Zulu Captain Leverich!
