The SCPOA’s Adopt A Spot was a success… the Commanding Officer and his family volunteered their time to help us “Keep Norfolk Beautiful!”
Don’t let the kids’ empty hands fool you… they did most of the work!!!
Our Medical Department had a successful week! 🩺
They conducted drills, one of which was a mass casualty drill. Onboard the ship, there are several personnel who are NOT medical personnel, but have stepped up to the plate and volunteered theirselves to be stretcher bearers. These stretcher bearers go through vigorous training on how to save a life, provide medical care, and how to carry a stretcher through a medical emergency. There are a lot of steps they have to go through in order to even be qualified! Yet, they did it! They played a huge role in the Medical Department getting a great score for their drill! Thank you Stretcher Bearers, Medical Department, Deck Department representatives, Engineering Department Representative, and Combat Systems Department Representatives!

Our Engineering Department! ⚙️
The ones who make it happen!
A huge shout out to the Engineering Department.
They have worked countless, long, and tiring hours to help get the ship back operational. The past couple months for them have been difficult, but this week has been exceptionally exhausting! Their hard work has earned us an amazing score on a very important evolution.
Your work is not unnoticed. Your hard work has paid off, and the ship could not function without you. All of you are important.
Congratulations to AM3 Hilario on his reenlistment, and advancement!
He was previously undesignated, and finally struck a rate! AM3 Hilario is a model leader, highly motivated, and a friend to all. He is the most qualified junior Sailor in the ship! He leaves in December, and will be greatly missed!
A farewell to DC2 Haugk. He is on his way to be a recruiter. Thank you for your undying motivation to teach junior Sailors, and your example by leading from the front. Good luck!
