There are three new bestsellers, three new movies, one new audiobook, eleven new music CDs, five new children's books, and twelve other new books, including twelve that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week are "The Rise and Fall of the Artificial State," "Daggerbound," and "Delusional." The new movies this week are "Disclosure Day," "Miss Scarlet Season 6," and "Miss Austen."

Join us at our monthly program for seniors with a light lunch and community connection. Each gathering features a speaker who will give a short informal talk followed by Q&A.

For our September gathering, Schuyler Thomson will speak about the early history of the Central New England Railroad through Norfolk. He will discuss why the tracks were laid to Norfolk and how the routes were charted, and share stories about key individuals involved.

For our September gathering, we will focus on Madhur Jaffrey: cookbook author, travel writer, and television personality. Jaffrey is recognized for bringing Indian cuisine to the western hemisphere with her debut cookbook, An Invitation to Indian Cooking (1973). A selection of her cookbooks are available at the library.

Remember to bring your dish ready to serve on a plate in small portions and any needed serving utensils. Bring your own beverage if you’d like. Led by avid cookbook collector Barry Webber, the Cookbook Group meets monthly with each meeting focused on a different cookbook or regional cuisine.

Our annual book sale is almost here, hooray! Over 30,000 beautiful books are all carefully sorted into over 30 categories. About 500 “rare and vintage” books will be priced to sell in one day. Bring a truck, and tell your friends! Boxes are provided, and credit cards are accepted.
No early or special access prior to the sale. Check out the schedule below:
Saturday, August 29, 10:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Sunday, August 30, 10:30 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. All books under the tent are free from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m.
Monday, August 31, 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Unlimited free books under the tent
