A Nature Year begins in just one week on Thursday, September 3 at Stony Brook!

What a summer it's been at Stony Brook Nature Camp!

From searching for wildlife along the boardwalk and seeing turtles, snakes, and even a Great Blue Heron up close, to creating art, conducting science experiments, hiking the trails, playing games, making crafts, and building friendships, our campers embraced every adventure and had fun, rain or shine!

A heartfelt thank you to our incredible counselors and staff, who work so hard to create meaningful, fun, and memorable experiences for every camper. We're also deeply grateful to the parents and caregivers who trust us each summer to provide a safe, welcoming environment where children can explore, learn, and grow.

Thank you for being part of another amazing camp season. We loved spending the summer with you and can't wait to welcome many of you back next year!

We're wild about Monarch Butterflies this month! Look for them in the pollinator garden at Stony Brook and anywhere milkweed grows. This essential plant provides food for caterpillars and a place for monarchs to lay their eggs.

Calling all nature explorers ages 3-6 and their caregivers! This Saturday, August 15, don't miss Tiny Trekkers: On the Trail of Beavers - a fun morning learning all about nature's master engineers.

We'll start indoors learning about beavers and making a craft to take home. Then we'll head out on the trails to look for clues beavers leave behind, from gnawed tree stumps to lodges and dams.

It's a great way for young children and their families to explore, create, and discover together.
