NORFOLK — Chief James Barrett reports that members of the Norfolk Police Department, working in coordination with federal and regional partners, executed a search warrant on Monday morning following a months-long investigation into suspected narcotics activity.
On May 4, Norfolk Police Detectives, along with agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration New Bedford Resident Office, Federal Task Force Officers from several nearby municipalities, Detectives from the Plainville Police Department, and an Ashland Police K9 Officer, executed multiple court-authorized search warrants in town.
Police recovered a significant quantity of suspected narcotics, rifles and handguns from the home at 70 Mirror Lake Ave.
As a result of the investigation, VANNAKONE KASOMANY and JENNIFER THIBODEAU were arrested. They face charges related to narcotics offenses and items recovered during the warrant ex*****on.
"This was a significant seizure of illegal drugs and fi****ms," said Chief Barrett. "Removing these substances and weapons from the community improves safety for our residents and our officers. Smaller communities are not insulated from this type of activity, which is why our detectives work closely with regional and federal partners to identify and stop it. We appreciate the collaborative effort among all agencies that made this operation possible."
KASOMANY and THIBODEAU will be arraigned Tuesday in Wrentham District Court.
The investigation remains ongoing.
These are allegations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty.
