– FEAD Cherry Point’s Superstar Spotlight shines on Contract Specialist Kathryn Nethercutt – a standout professional whose dedication, leadership and positivity strengthen every corner of the team. She expertly manages major contracts(more than $418M), champions Quality-of-Life initiatives, and uplifts her teammates with unwavering enthusiasm. Her recent certification achievements and mentorship efforts highlight exactly why she’s a BZ‑worthy superstar.

FEAD Cherry Point also continues to advance two major installation projects:

• P‑228 Air Traffic Control (ATC) Tower & Airfield Operations – the facilities will support F‑35’s, ATC training and regional FAA airspace coverage. (Estimated completion – OCT 2027)

• P‑254 Two Rivers Theater and Event Center – this new 1,000‑seat auditorium was designed for academic instruction, training, and large‑scale gatherings to support the installation and Marine Corps Community Services.

CAPT Dean Allen, NAVFAC Mid‑Atlantic Commanding Officer, had the distinct pleasure of serving as the Parade Reviewing Official for the Bravo Company recruit graduation aboard Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island, South Carolina, Aug. 14, 2026. – Earlier this summer, NAVFAC MIDLANT Planning, Design & Construction Strategic Planning Division (PDC3) members joined industry experts at the 2026 Federal Planning Division Workshop , hosted by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Washington, D.C. Post and the APA Federal Planning Division, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The workshop provided a focused opportunity for collaboration with industry planners – ensuring PDC3’s planning practices remain aligned with current standards, innovations, and emerging requirements. Attendees participated in a broad range of technical sessions, including military construction project development, installation master planning, resiliency initiatives, and shore infrastructure investment strategies.
