Stationed at Naval Base Kitsap in Silverdale, Wash., Navy Band Northwest is under the leadership of Lieutenant Bruce Mansfield and falls operationally under the command of Rear Admiral Gary Mayes, Commander, U.S. Navy Region Northwest.
This performance of "Who's Who in Navy Blue" features the United States Naval Academy Band, as #NavyMusic continues our centennial celebration of Lt. Cmdr. John Philip Sousa into the U.S. Navy Reserve in 1917.
"Who's Who in Navy Blue" was composed by Lt. Cmdr. Sousa at the request of the 1921 graduating class of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland.

Our first tribute begins with Navy Band Great Lakes, where Sousa served as the Navy bandmaster from 1917-1919.
As African-American History month comes to a close, please take a moment with us to recognize the important contributions that African-Americans have made to our Navy and to American music history.
Members of the band are joined by musicians from the United States Naval Academy Band as we prepare for our upcoming tour in Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. Petty Officer Moody was promoted to the rank of First Class Petty Officer through the Meritorious Advancement Program while serving onboard USNS COMFORT on a 6-month deployment in support of COMDESRON 40 and Operation Continuing Promise 2015. MU1 Moody was promoted while underway, as USNS COMFORT steamed to Honduras for their current port visit in Puerto Castilla. Bravo Zulu MU1 Moody, U.S. Fleet Forces Band could not be prouder!
