This year, U.S. Fleet Forces Band dedicates their video to the partner nations of Grenada, Colombia, Trinidad and Tobago, and Panama, which they visited during their recent mission Continuing Promise. Marking its 13th year, Continuing Promise provides direct medical care, participates in humanitarian and disaster relief exercises, and engages in cultural exchanges.
This year, 12 Days of Navy Music celebrates our international partnerships. Navy bands have performed in 54 countries this year building relationships and making connections through music. Navy bands go where ships can't go to expand and strengthen our network of partners.

Please give a warm welcome to our newest hornist, Musician 1st Class Alejandro Mejia. He comes to us from Navy Band Southeast, after completing the Intermediate Musician Course at the Naval School of Music.
MU1 Mejia is originally from Miami, FL and holds a Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University in French horn performance, a Master of Music degree from Penn State University in French horn performance and a Performance Certificate from DePaul University.
He enjoys going on road trips, visiting new places and attending sporting events. Welcome Aboard shipmate!

As we say farewell to our extraordinary vocalist, Musician 3rd Class Kathryn Whitbeck, we’d like to share an example of the worldwide impact of Navy music. While a member of the Navy's U.S. 7th Fleet Band, MU3 Whitbeck performed a show in the Philippines - a performance that inspired a young member of the audience to draw a portrait of her. Years later when the 7th Fleet Band returned to the Philippines, the young artist came back to gift the picture to MU3 Whitbeck, who had since transferred to U.S. Fleet Forces Band in Norfolk, Va. The current 7th Fleet vocalist MU3 Ashley Po***ck accepted the gift and made arrangements to get it across the world in time for MU3 Whitbecks's farewell all-hands. We’re so honored to be a part of this special gift of music that positively impacts lives, transcends language and builds worldwide relationships. MU3 Whitbeck, we thank you for your outstanding contributions while serving. Fare winds and following seas.

Our rock band "Four-Star Edition" recently performed at the 2023 NAS Oceana Air Show "Beach Blast" on the oceanfront. The event was in collaboration with the NAS Oceana F-18 'Rhino' Demo team as well as the U.S. Navy Parachute Team "The Leap Frogs" and U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Four-Star Edition performed as entertainment and as a way to gather community members in celebration of this year's theme "50 Years of Women in Aviation."

Petty Officer Moody was promoted to the rank of First Class Petty Officer through the Meritorious Advancement Program while serving onboard USNS COMFORT on a 6-month deployment in support of COMDESRON 40 and Operation Continuing Promise 2015. MU1 Moody was promoted while underway, as USNS COMFORT steamed to Honduras for their current port visit in Puerto Castilla. Bravo Zulu MU1 Moody, U.S. Fleet Forces Band could not be prouder!
