The Arleigh Burke-class guided missile destroyers USS Winston S. Churchill (DDG 81), front, and USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), back, es**rt the world’s largest aircraft carrier, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78), during an integrated phase training event, March 23, 2025.

The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group is underway in the Atlantic Ocean completing integrated naval warfighting training. Composite Training Unit Exercise (COMPTUEX) is the Joint Force’s most complex integrated training event and prepares naval task forces for sustained high-end Joint and combined combat. Integrated naval training provides America’s civilian leaders and commanders highly-capable forces that deter adversaries, underpin American security and economic prosperity, and reassure Allies and partners.

BZ FC1 Montoya!!

Congratulations to FC1 Jade Montoya serving aboard USS Bainbridge (DDG 96), on being Commander, Naval Surface Force Atlantic's Elite Performer. BZ! 🥳🎉

Fire Controlman 1st Class Jade Montoya is a native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, and stationed aboard USS Bainbridge (DDG 96). She was selected as Bainbridge Sailor of the Quarter and recently advanced to Petty Officer 1st Class.

As Leading Petty Officer and Close-In Weapon System technician, Montoya leads 19 Sailors and maintains mission readiness throughout Surface Warfare, Air Warfare, Explosive Safety, and Anti-Terrorism Warfare.

As Combat Systems Officer of the Watch, Anti-Terrorism Tactical Watch Officer, and Combat Systems Training Team member, she is trusted for her sound judgment and warfighting expertise.

She was also instrumental in the ex*****on of multiple Basic Phase certifications, further proving her level of knowledge and superior work performance.
Montoya is an Assistant Command Fitness Leader, conducting physical fitness training for a command of over 300 Sailors.

She enjoys giving back to her local community by volunteering at the local Chesapeake humane society. The success of Bainbridge would not be possible without Sailors like Montoya.
