Congratulations to Franklin Polacek from Madison County! Franklin was chosen as one of the Outstanding Youth Volunteer award recipients. 🍀
Franklin's favorite memory as a 4-H volunteer: "My favorite memory as a 4-H volunteer was teaching over one-thousand 2nd and 3rd graders about poultry at the Madison County Ag Literacy Festival. It is really fun helping younger kids learn where their food comes from and why agriculture is important. I liked seeing them get excited and ask questions while we learned together. I also love volunteering at the State Fair hog show."
Franklin encourages younger 4-H'ers to be Beyond Ready by mentoring, teaching skills like animal showing, and building confidence in youth. "As a volunteer, I create a positive environment and encourage participation in projects and real-world experiences like building and service projects. I lead by example and show how 4-H skills can be used in everyday life."
Thank you, Franklin!

Join us in Norfolk THIS Friday!

Join us on Friday, April 24 from 7–9 AM for a free drive-thru breakfast and information on cancer prevention and screening.
Norfolk: Prime Stop South - 1201 Prime Stop Way, Norfolk, NE 68701

Cancer remains one of the leading causes of death in Nebraska, and many adults are not up to date on recommended screenings despite the fact that early detection can significantly improve outcomes.

At each site, you’ll receive a simple screening checklist, information on local resources, and support if you are overdue for screenings.
This event is made possible through a partnership between Nebraska Medicine, the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center, Nebraska Extension, and local community partners.
