It was truly an honor to speak about Veteran care at this year's Visiting Angels Annual Conference. Speaking not just as a Veteran, but as someone who grew up in a Veteran household and now leads a business built around serving Veterans, this topic is deeply personal to me.

I shared thoughts on the importance of recognizing the vital role of the Veteran's spouse, taking the time to understand the era in which a Veteran served, the specific role they held, and being mindful of the lasting impact conditions like PTSD can have on those who served.

My hope is that together, we as Visiting Angels owners can continue raising the standard of care for the Veterans who have given so much.

And I was truly humbled by the service of the other Veterans who spoke alongside me from San Antonio Visiting Angels.

CONGRATULATIONS, LAVETTE FOR YOUR "ANGEL LIGHT" AWARD!

The "Angel Light" Award is given to caregivers whose exceptional care recognized signs of a serious depressive episode, and their timely, compassionate intervention protected their client's safety and well-being. The award is part of our Angel Light Project, designed to recognize caregivers who recognize and minimize the impact of depression on seniors.

On May 19th 2026, while serving as a Visiting Angel caregiver, Lavette's attentiveness recognized signs of a serious depressive episode in her client. Lavette took compassionate and decisive action to ensure the client's distress was identified, addressed, and resolved. Her intervention ensured the client's safety and well-being during a vulnerable moment.

Her actions upheld the highest traditions of Visiting Angels.

On March 18th 2026, while serving as a Visiting Angel caregiver, Kelly’s attentiveness and insightful actions allowed her to identify, quickly intervene, and avert a life-threatening situation to her client.

HELLO CHESAPEAKE!

WE'RE EXPANDING!!

Visiting Angels of Norfolk is expanding into Chesapeake. We recently received funding from ServisFirst Bank, signed all the purchase agreements, and took over the Chesapeake territory!

We are excited about the opportunity to help so many more people in the Southside Hampton Roads area with our award-winning approach to care.
