A little rain doesn’t slow down port operations and it didn’t slow us down yesterday. With VPA Police instructors watching closely, Officer Stapleton powered through his Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) exposure training and executed each required task. The weather and the OC didn’t slow him down. Great job Officer Stapleton!

Don’t let lightning catch you off guard.

⚡Follow the 30-minute rule: wait at least half an hour after you see lightning or hear thunder before heading back outside.

Remember, when thunder roars, go indoors!

Be weather aware! Last night surprised a lot of folks.

Be weather aware! Last night surprised a lot of folks.

Another round of thunderstorms is expected today, so make sure to stay weather aware, no matter where you are. Have different ways to get weather alerts (phone, NOAA Weather Radio, local news are a few), and get inside a sturdy building if a warning is issued for your local area.
