Last week, all shifts with the Normal Fire Department had the opportunity to train in an acquired structure over several days. Using simulated smoke conditions, crews practiced search and rescue operations, hose line deployment, ladder work, and building construction recognition in a realistic environment.

This type of hands-on training is invaluable and helps prepare our firefighters for the challenges they may face on emergency scenes. We are grateful for every opportunity to train in acquired structures and continue sharpening the skills that help keep our community and our firefighters safe.
