From our humble beginnings as a reading room possessing a mere 300 volumes in 1935, the Normal Public Library has developed into a vital and bustling community resource center with nearly 200,000 materials. As our library has grown, we have vastly expanded our collection to incorporate not only traditional printed materials but a wide variety of digital resources including e-books, audiobooks, MP3

s, and more! Our mission is to serve as a gateway to knowledge for the Town of Normal, providing attentive service, diverse programming, and support in the pursuit of lifelong learning to patrons of all ages.

Eat Pizza, Support Normal Public Library! 🍕📚

Mark your calendars! On Thursday, August 27, the Normal Public Library Foundation is hosting a Dine to Donate event benefiting NPL at Pizza Payaa.

When you order, 20% of your total receipt will be donated back to the library to help support community programs, resources, and events.

Here is how to make your order count:
In-Person / Call-In: Mention NPL Foundation when ordering.
Online: Use code FUNDRAISER at checkout.

We have regained power and will open tomorrow, Saturday 8/15, at 9 am. Our staff are currently working to get all of our systems back online for reopening after the storm.

In celebration of Library Card Sign-Up Month, throughout September, tap your library card with the NEW Ride Sticker from Normal Public Library (NPL) or Bloomington Public Library (BPL) to ride Connect Transit FREE!

A Ride Sticker is required to ride free during this promotion.
This promotion also includes:
--- Connect Mobility – Transportation for individuals whose disabilities prevent them from using fixed-route buses.
--- Connect FLEX – The on-demand, shared-ride service serving southwest Bloomington.

How It Works:
--- Visit either library to get your FREE Ride Sticker.
--- Each time you ride in September, simply tap your library card with the Ride Sticker to board for free starting September 1.
