As a parent or family member, you play a vital role in the success of your student at Illinois State University. That’s because student success is the result of a collective partnership between the University, the student, and his or her family. We are preparing the student for the next phase of their life. The student will experience a few challenges along the way, and when they do, there are University resources to assist them along with the support of their family. It is through those challenges that the greatest growth and learning occurs.

Coming to Family Weekend and planning to visit your student in the residence halls?

Students should register any guests before arrival. Guest pre-registration is available through the Housing and Dining Portal and can help speed up the check-in process.

Remember: All guests must check in at the front desk. Guests must bring a valid government-issued photo ID. Students are responsible for their guests while they are visiting. Guests ages 13-17 require a completed Minor Guest Registration form before visiting campus.
