Clubs are nonpolitical, nonreligious, and open to all cultures, races, and creeds. Our Club has been a shining example of this since 2001, when we were chartered. Sunset Rotarians meet in the evenings, without a meal. Our club meets every Wednesday

Sunset Rotary of Bloomington Normal, Rotary Club from New Jersey, and host Sarigam Rotary club in Gujarat India along with all three Districts and RI partnered on a Global Grant project last Rotary year. The project is complete and the Rotary hospital in Sarigam now has remaining diagnostic equipment which will benefit the low income and under privileged communities in the surrounding area. Congratulations Sarigam Rotary club on completing this Global Grant project.

Sunset Rotary would like to announce Rotary District 6490's newest future Rotarian! Teddy was born on Tuesday August 13th to Past Presidents Mike and Bree Corzine. He will grow up knowing and living the Four Way Test and learn to put Service above self. Did you know that Mike and Bree are a true Rotary couple? They joined Sunset Rotary while dating, got engaged at a Joint District Conference and Zone Institute! We are excited to watch Teddy grow and hope to one day welcome him as a Rotarian!

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of one of our members. Dr. Collector Saksena passed earlier this week. A visitation is to be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Friday December 29 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home 1800 Eastland Dr. Bloomington, IL 61704. Our thoughts and prayers are with Collector's wife and family.

Last Wednesday, we, as a club, had to lie to one of own. The man pictured here is so dedicated to Rotary, that he turned down an invitation from the Mayor of Normal. The problem? Well, he was set to be the guest of honor at this event, but he didn't know it. Our very own Roger Schmidgall is involved in many things, and people have noticed. Although he likes to operate somewhat behind the scene and is one of the most humble people you will ever meet, Roger was recognized as the Town of Normal Citizen of the Year! We at Sunset Rotary Club of Bloomington-Normal would like to say thank you to Roger for all the work that he has and continues to put in to truly live the Rotary motto of Service Above Self!
