The September 16th salsa and marinara class was a huge success. Participants utilized the Colquitt County Canning Plant to make a batch of salsa and marinara. Special thanks to Mrs. Pam Hamilton and Mrs. Kaylee West for coming and sharing your recipes. Good fun and fellowship was had by all. Look out for other opportunities in the future.

Several weeks ago, the Chafin Family was selected as one of 3 finalist in the Georgia Young Farmers, farm family contest. This contest starts with a written application focusing on a variety of aspects including farming operation, community service, and Young Farmer participation. Today, the Chafins were presented with a sign for their home and completed a one hour interview with a panel of judges. Now we wait, the state winner will be announced in January at the Georgia Young Farmers Association state convention. Please help me in congratulating the Chafins on making it this process.

The last few weeks have been busy for the Young Farmers. We had a great antique tractor show. Sutton System Sales Inc hosted a great meeting over products they offer. The BBQ class and contest was a night of information and fun. Forage field day this Friday at 11:00.
