Crime Victims’ Rights Week – Victim Notification

Victims of crime have the right to stay informed throughout the Pardon and Parole process, including parole hearings, decisions, release dates, and custody changes that may affect their safety.

To receive these updates, victims must complete and submit a victim notification form. This ensures notification through the Pardon and Parole Board, Department of Corrections, and the OK VINE system.

Victims have the right to

Be notified of parole hearings and any changes
Be informed of parole decisions
Know when an offender is released or their status changes
Submit a statement or speak at parole hearings

Completing the victim notification form is essential to protecting your rights!

Get rid of old, unwanted medication and sharps at the 2026 DEA National Medication & Medical Waste Take Back Event. This is a free, convenient drive-thru event where you can safely dispose of unused medications and certain medical waste.

📆 Saturday, April 25
⌚ 10AM - 2PM
📍Cleveland Co. Health Dept -- 250 12th Ave NE

FREE medication lockboxes, disposal kits, Narcan, and portable sharps containers will be available while supplies last.

The event is held in partnership with Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and other community partners.

Great work by the SOUTH METRO SWAT for winning the state competition! 🏆

SOUTH METRO SWAT WINS STATE COMPETITION

South Metro SWAT competed Wednesday at the annual Oklahoma State SWAT Competition in Stillwater against 8 other law enforcement teams from across the state -- and won the top honors!

The team was also awarded top honors in multiple events:
- 1st Place - Team Pistol Competition
- 1st Place - 2-Gun Competition
- 1st Place - Carbine Competition
- 1st Place - Officer Down Rescue
- 3rd Place - Sniper

This competition spotlights the professionalism, skill, and teamwork of our SWAT Team and the work they do to serve our community daily! Congratulations!

South Metro SWAT is comprised of members from the Norman Police Department, Moore Police Department, Cleveland County Sheriff's Office- OK, and University of Oklahoma Police Department - OUPD Norman.

WHAT IS IT??

Crime Victims Compensation is a program that provides financial assistance to victims of violent crime in Oklahoma.

It helps cover eligible expenses such as medical bills, counseling, lost wages, and other costs related to the crime allowing victims to focus on healing and recovery.

This movement is led by the Office for Victims of Crime.
