🌟 Volunteer Spotlight: Doyle S. 🌟

If you stop by the Noble Senior Citizen Center chances are you’ll see Doyle hard at work!

A retired business owner and Noble Senior Center board member, Doyle gives his time every week to support our local seniors. When he’s not volunteering (or spending quality time with his sweet wife, Patty), he’s usually planning his next round of shenanigans with his partner-in-crime, Curtis.

At Aging Services, we are so grateful for our incredible volunteers and the gift of time they bring to the Cleveland County seniors we serve.

OAALA is a leadership development program run by Oklahoma Human Services (OKDHS) that trains community advocates, volunteers, and professionals in aging services.

National Senior Citizens Day is celebrated every August 21st to honor older adults for their lifelong achievements, wisdom, and the vibrant energy they bring to our families and communities. The tradition officially began in 1988 when President Ronald Reagan signed Proclamation 5847, and this year, Aging Services kept that spirit alive across 5 of our congregate senior nutrition lunch sites!
Our team celebrated by serving delicious desserts and hosting peer-voted "Senior Day Awards" at each location. Eight wonderful seniors per site were recognized by their friends for categories including funniest, best storyteller, ageless vitality, fashionista, happiest, sassiest, best hugger, and most creative.

We are bursting with pride today! Our very own employee James was recently highlighted in a New York Times article, and honestly, we aren't surprised the world is noticing what a treasure he is.
In his 70s, James still comes to work every single day with a massive smile on his face. He works tirelessly to ensure local seniors over 60 receive a hot, fresh, and delicious lunch.
James, thank you for your incredible dedication, hard work, and infectious positive attitude. You make Aging Services Inc. a better place!

🚨 URGENT CALL FOR HELP: OUR SENIORS ARE WAITING 🚨

Can you spare just one hour to ensure a neighbor doesn't go hungry?

Right now, there is an urgent need for volunteer drivers to deliver meals to homebound seniors in Norman, S. OKC, Moore, and Noble. The need in Norman is especially critical.

Without volunteer drivers, some of our most vulnerable seniors may not receive a meal at all.

How you can help:

Time Commitment: Just 1 hour per day, Monday through Friday.

Flexibility: Volunteer for as many or as few days as your schedule allows!

Summer Opportunity: We especially encourage teens and young adults to join our mission during the summer months. It’s a powerful way to give back to those who built our community.

This isn’t just a delivery; for many, it’s the only friendly face they see all day. Don't let their plates go empty.
