10/28/2020
To our OU and Norman community,
Thank you for your support and enthusiasm as we planned to walk to the polls this Thursday. Due to inclement weather and the ensuing power outages, we regret to announce that the Walk to the Polls 2020 has been canceled.
We believe it is far more important that you take care of yourself and your loved ones right now, but we encourage you to see the events of the last few days as proof of the importance of making a voting plan -- even if that plan turns into a voting plan B or C. We’re fortunate, at least, that the ice storm occurred this week and not next. There’s still time for you to make a voting plan and follow through with it, whatever that looks like for you.
While we can’t all vote together, we encourage you to show your support for voting rights by taking a selfie with your “I voted” sticker. We hope to compile the photos into a collage that represents our energy and commitment to participating in our democracy. You can tag us on Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook using these handles:

If you still haven’t voted, we encourage you to visit our voting resources site for information about casting your vote in the next six days: https://ou.edu/voting/be-a-voter/make-a-voting-plan. There, you’ll find early voting dates, election day voting hours, and tips for making sure your vote is counted. If you have any questions, please email [email protected] and we’ll be happy to address your concerns as well as help you make a voting plan. Your voice is more important now than ever.
In solidarity,
The Oklahoma Votes Team
